Living Istanbul, these are the architect Cigdem and Matthias from Germany, who live and work in Istanbul. Both came to Istanbul several years ago almost by accident and have fallen in love with the city: in the fascinating and beautiful sides of the mega-metropolis as well as in Istanbul’s hectic and vibrant chaos. Over time, the idea came up of bringing “their” Beyoğlu closer to friends and guests with holiday apartments: Living Istanbul’s apartments are all centrally located in quiet streets and neighborhoods of the bustling Beyoğlu. Via friends they met Gülriz, a creative consultant who quickly joined the team and is now responsible for management and PR/Marketing at Living Istanbul.

They all place great emphasis on the feel-good factor of the specially renovated flats and personal exchange with the people in the neighborhoods: Our cleaning lady Emine and her husband Hursit, our caretaker, who live in the Aynali Çeşme district are part of our team as well as Baran, our driver. Living Istanbul guarantees them a regular income and with our guests the local infrastructure such as bakers, support local Bakkals (mini-supermarkets) and local service providers such as electricians, carpenters, tour guides etc. are supported.
